Off camera, snooted flash

I’ve always loved those new camera brochures that feature low key, mysterious photographs of the latest gear (think stealth bomber). I wanted to try and recreate that look and shot one of my cameras in my darkened office using an off camera flash. The flash was set to manual at 1/64th power and I wrapped a file folder around the head in a long tube. The flash was really close to the subject to create quick falloff to shadow.

Camera: Canon 30D with 17-55 f3.5-5.6 lens | ISO 100 | 1/125th @ f5.6
